CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) NEWS

Sandstone Animal Hospital has remained open and caring for your furry family members since the start of the pandemic. We have complied with the orders and recommendations from Governor Mike DeWine, the ODH, and the CDC in order to keep team members and clients safe. We will continue to monitor data and adjust operations accordingly. Here is the latest update:

CLINIC HOURS ARE:

Monday – Thursday 8:00am-6:00pm
Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
select Saturdays 9:00am-1:00pm
Closed Sunday.

  • Face masks are not required for staff or guests of the clinic. Do not hesitate to ask our team members to wear a mask if you are immunocompromised.
  • Wellness and illness appointments are being scheduled. Please know that we are doing our absolute best to accommodate as many as we are able. We are still working through staff shortages.
  • Surgery and dental procedures are being performed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • New clients are being accepted when availability allows.
  • We are no longer accepting boarding reservations.
  • The Grooming Salon is open! Call the clinic and choose Option 4 to hear salon hours or speak directly with April to schedule.
  • Please be sure to have cats in a secure carrier and dogs on a leash during your visit.
  • MEDICATION AND FOOD PICKUP WILL BE IN CLINIC (OR CURBSIDE IF REQUESTED).
    • If entering the clinic for pick up, we ask that only one adult enter the clinic.
    • If curbside, payment will be taken over the phone via credit card. Then the item(s) and receipt will be placed in a bin at the front door for contactless pick up. Certain medications may need to be directly handed to you by a doctor or technician.
  • TECH APPOINTMENTS WILL BE IN CLINIC (OR CURBSIDE IF REQUESTED).
    • If entering the clinic, please wait in your vehicle until called, then meet our team member at the front door. We ask that only one adult enter the clinic.
    • If curbside, payment can be taken over the phone or handed directly to a team member.
  • SURGERY DROP OFFS & RELEASES AND BOARDING DROP OFFS & PICK UPS, WILL BE IN CLINIC (OR CURBSIDE IF REQUESTED).
  • GROOMING APPOINTMENTS WILL STILL BE CURBSIDE.
  • HOW DO IN-CLINIC APPOINTMENTS AND CURBSIDE APPOINTMENTS OPERATE?
    • If accompanying your pet for an appointment, we will be limiting the number of people to 1 (one) healthy adult. No face mask is required.
    • Whether curbside or not, please call #440-234-6336 when you arrive in the parking lot.
    • If your pet has a curbside appointment, the technician will take a history over the phone then an assistant will meet you at the front door. The exam will be done inside the clinic and the doctor will call you to discuss the findings and answer questions. Payment will be taken over the phone if paying by credit card (or you may give your credit card to the assistant when they greet you at the door), and the pet along with the receipt will be returned to you at the front door.
    • If your pet has an in-clinic appointment, the technician will meet you at the front door, direct you to an exam room, and take a history in person. The doctor will then examine your pet and discuss the findings. We ask that you remain away from the table while we are caring for your pet. When the appointment is complete, we will either take payment in the exam room or escort you to the front desk to take care of payment.
    • Our current protocol will be relayed to you during the reminder call the day before your appointment.
  • If you are accompanying your pet for euthanasia, we ask that only 2 (two) healthy adults enter the clinic. No face mask is required.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting of commonly touched surfaces such as door handles, computer keyboards, and telephones will be done throughout the clinic midday and at the end of the day. Exam rooms will be cleaned between each appointment.
